While most of us are working from home and maintaining social distancing, the phone calls, emails and Zoom meetings are actually bringing lots of us together.
On the 15 April 2020, our CEO, Iana Dimitrova was invited to take part in a panel discussion entitled Fintech Without Borders: The Impact of International Turmoil on a Global Industry.
The panel was hosted by Innovate Finance in support of UK Fintech Week and moderated by Susanne Chishti, CEO, FinTech Circle. Other panellists included Nicholas Heller, CEO and co-founder of Fractal Labs, Boaz Yaari, founder and CEO of Sharegain, and Diana Paredes, CEO and co-founder of Suade Labs.
The one-hour session covered a range of talking points, including FinTech across the globe and what lessons we can learn from global players. The panellists also addressed some of the following points:
Global international collaboration instead of competition
How does the move from competition to collaboration show on a global scale?
Key lessons from those who have used FinTech Bridges
The factors behind successful international expansion
How are current travel restrictions impacting global FinTech?
If you missed it, you can listen to the full panel discussion here.
One of the discussion points raised was the importance of supporting and promoting the welfare of employees. COVID-19 has made it challenging times for both businesses and employees, so it was encouraging to hear the participants emphasise how vital it is for companies to work to support and ensure the health and wellbeing of their employees.
In doing so, businesses can also yield benefits such as becoming more connected and resilient, and having a positive effect on the culture, employee brand and business performance.
One point that bears repeating is how the lockdown has, somewhat ironically, had the effect of increasing the levels of communication between employees. While most of us are working from home and maintaining social distancing, the phone calls, emails and Zoom meetings are actually bringing lots of us together. While we are all separated physically, we have come together digitally!
Stay safe everyone.
